In cities like Los Angeles and New York dog walking services are pretty common, thanks to many pet owners with full-time day jobs that can't be home to make sure their dogs are getting regular exercise. For those who really need assurance their canines are getting walked, Swifto makes sure you can track your dog's walks in Manhattan.
Swifto goes all out for vigilant dog owners by providing an entire digital service dedicated to dog walking, with an app that tracks the walk.
In order to get started, you're taken through a series of questions on the site that is actually a fun experience because it's almost like a game. You fill in your dog's name and what type of breed it is. You can select a walking schedule on the calendar that comes up after that, and Swifto will assign a walker to your dog. You also select how long the walks need to be — the price will vary depending on what you choose.
The most interesting feature is Swifto's tracking app. Once a walker picks up your dog, you'll get a message that he or she was picked up. You can then access the live map and see where the walker and your dog are, when they started walking and how far they've walked.
The walker can even go so far as to notify you of your dog's behaviors, such as whether it went to the bathroom. When the walk is over, you receive another text letting you know that they're back and how long they walked for the day.
While this app may be a bit "big brother" for some tastes, it could be helpful if you feel you must keep tabs on your precious canine.
