Color Inspiration: While I was pregnant, I fell in love with all shades of turquoise, especially all the nurseries featured on Ohdeedoh with turquoise and yellow. Also found the awesome zoo animal, cheerful curtain from Target to cover Levi's closet. It set the stage for the rest of the room. Most of all, I adore bright colors!

Tip for Using Color: Be bold. Babies love contrast and bright colors, not the traditional pastels we associate with nurseries. Find a piece that pulls all of your colors together, and run with it. Also, you do not need a lot of money to create a beautiful nursery-we did everything including furniture for under $500! Spray paint and fabric are easy and cheap ways to add color.
Colors Used: deep turquoise, orange, yellow, grey (and some red and green).

I did make the mobile, and was inspired by this one here: http://www.spearmintbaby.com/2009/08/featured-diy-masons-mobile/ I used a big circle hole punch, cardstock, fishing wire, thick double sided tape, and the embroidery hoop.
Elephant hamper was from "Home Decorators"..was my splurge item :)
Crib is the famous IKEA Gulliver.
Above the crib is fabric wrapped around an old frame from Etsy seller luckykaerufabric
I did make the "Jesus Loves Me" print in photoshop.
Orange lamp, pillows, and shower curtain are from Target. Fan from TJ Maxx. Everything else is pretty much already owned, handed down, thrifted, or made by my husband or I.
