Let me preface this post by saying... This TV is only available in Korea. Still, the LG Serie 1 Television is a thing of beauty. Sure it may be a bit bulky, but it would be a lovely addition if you are into the whole mid-century vibe.

This 60s throwback TV by LG sells for the Korean equivalent of $215. Viewers have the option of watching their programming in black and white or sepia instead of color on the 14" screen. So awesome. In Korea it is available in orange and woodtone. It has many of the features of a modern TV (like a remote and compatibility with a cable box or dvd player). We aren't sure if this TV is slated for a US release, but we certainly hope so. Here is the Korean website where they are being sold if you'd like to see a few more photos.

Love it.
Do the channel and volume dials go round and round when you hit the remote?
This would be perfect for my den on a cute little wheelie cart!
mmm, looks like candy. I like it!
Aww, super cute, especially with its little bug feet and antenna. I have no need for this, but now I really want one. Curse you, AT. lol. The website says it's 249,000.00 KRW, which the internet tells me is about 215.97 USD. Not bad. I wonder if that shop would ship it here, or if I'd have to get my Korean in-laws to buy it and send it....
Fantastic. Most flat screen TV's today have absolutely no personality or style.
I adore this - I currently only have a tiny tv in the living room, a thrift store score... I hate a huge tv! I would love something design-y like this... though I bet if it comes to the US, the price tag will be heftier, and it will be sold at Anthropologie.
poor picture quality? energy inefficient CRT? perhaps look at the hannspree line of LCDs... the "lounge" or "boston" look like interesting choices...
It looks like a little robot, and I waaaaaaaaaant one!
What about the Predicta tvs?

Very retro as well plus it is sold in the US!
So adorable...I totally love it.
"Viewers have the option of watching their programming in black and white or sepia instead of color..."
That is super sweet!
Why can't you get anything like this here? Modern tvs are so gross looking.
Love the look. I have no desire for anything bigger than my 13inch tv that I view periodically. the huge monsters that so many people seem to worship and place above their mantles are like fingernails on a chalkboard to me.
So cute it is almost cuddly. Great kitchen counter set.
What the heck?! This is the only TV available in North Korea or South Korea? I thought South Korea was a relatively high-tech country. Kim Jong-il probably designed this TV himself, that little lunatic. North Koreans don't get to choose anything for themselves, their apartments, their jobs, etc. It's deplorable.
I think your "only" is in the wrong place.
The TV is *only* available in Korea.
This tv is awesome! I hope it becomes available in the US.
Thanks for the link evechan. I had no idea that product was out there.
it would be interesting to post this as a "hot or not."
"Do the channel and volume dials go round and round when you hit the remote?"
OMG, I think I just had a flashback.
I absolutely must have one of these!
That is so cute. I still have my black and white little TV from when I was a kid - many moons ago. Hubby still wonders why I have kept it. Because it's cute and it has a clear picture.
I agree with redneckmodern. I have a 37" Hannslounge HDTV. It is one of the few modern televisions that has style. It's big, sits on sleek chrome feet with matching trim and has a nice faux wood encasing around the sides and back. Definitely stands out from the drones of slim black panels that are only distinguishable by their brand names.
Still, I really like this little LG.
I am in LOVE with this TV! I may have to contact some relatives of mine to see if they might send me this TV!
I saw this in technomart just the other day, and giggled over it. If I were in the market for a small, fairly compact tv, I'd go for it. It's super cute in real life, although the dial doesn't turn when you use the remote^^
Aw man, I want one. I don't even need a TV right now but I'd buy one of those in a heartbeat! Why don't we ever get the cool stuff in the US????
I had a cute red round ball tv that I bought from Target.
