Name: Liam (8 months)
Location: Rochester, Minnesota
My son Liam is 8-months-old and is our second boy so this is the second boy's nursery I've designed. With our first boy, we put up a feature wall using wood from an old barn my husband and Dad tore down. So I wanted Liam to have his own feature wall. This time I went a little more modern and sleek and used tongue and grove board painted white.
I also wanted Liam's nursery to have some of the same elements as Jack’s room in case I ever wanted to combine their rooms so I chose the animal busts, animal prints, metal monogram, and another handmade quilt made by my mom.
Sometimes it just takes awhile to get all the final touches. I went around and around about what to do for window coverings because what I really wanted were roman shades but geez they are expensive! I just couldn’t justify the cost. So my mom and I talked through other options. We ended up with our own solution that looks like a roman shade and closes completely but for only $50. Yay!
I used the same crib, rocker, and changing table from Jack's nursery but in a completely different way to make it all his but also save on costs. My blog readers helped me pick the ceiling light so that was a really fun decision. I ended up going with one from Pottery Barn Kids and I love it.
The last few things I added were the Be Brave & Courageous print by Lay Baby Lay, the arrow pillow, the metal baskets on the shelf, and the Blabla doll which was Liam’s Christmas present. I love how it all turned out, such a fun project!
