Liana & Jordan's Airy Park Slope Abode

Liana & Jordan's Airy Park Slope Abode

Location: Brooklyn, New York
Who Lives Here? Luna the French Bulldog + Liana and Jordan Walker

Tell us about this home. After years of living in the densely populated East Village, Liana and Jordan sought a more spacious and calm environment. Relocating to the Park Slope area of Brooklyn near Prospect Park, Brooklyn's answer to Central Park, they now enjoy daily walks with their French Bulldog Luna, to a section of the park where local dogs and their owners meet.

In addition to the low-key vibe of the neighborhood, the move provided a roomier home, including a dining room and home office (a must for a couple who both work from home).

While the apartment is under 1000 sq. ft., the couple keeps the space feeling spacious by avoiding clutter and by working with proportion. "The dining room is on the small side, but by keeping the furniture in that room to necessities only, we could have table that seats eight and not feel cramped." Philippe Starck Ghost Chairs add seating without taking up a lot of visual space.

Much of the furniture was picked up at vintage stores or flea markets. "The table was found on Craig's list and is probably our favorite piece. It's the heart of the apartment. We gather there to eat, talk, work and plan trips."
