Family Fun calls this a "By the Book" party, and they have some great ideas keeping in line with the library-inspired party.
• Start out the fun with these invitations that resemble library book cards. Pick up a date stamper at your local office supply store. Your little one can keep playing "library" with it long after the party.
• Creating Book totes by stamping different colored book "spines" on canvas totes available at the craft store.
• Give each guest their own official-looking library card to "check out" books while at the party. After five stamps from a designated "librarian," they get a prize.
Check out the rest of their ideas (including a book-themed snack) as well as tutorials for these projects at Family Fun. Many of these ideas work for a group or just for starting your own "little library" at home.
Read Across America Day happens to be tomorrow, so why not throw a little impromptu library playdate?
