Light blue is a classic for a boy's room. But to make sure it looks modern, we like pairing it with touches of bold red.
We saw this little boy's room over at Bloesem Kids and really fell for the color combination. The large swaths of white and the red used sparingly keeps the overall look cool toned. If you like light blue and red together, also consider blue and orange as a combination. To see the rest of this adorable boy's room, head over to Bloesem Kids.

Sprout Side Table
I painted my son's room light blue about 4 yrs ago when he was kicked out of the nursery by his brother, :). I've been adding accents of red and navy and now gray as the years have gone by. Love it!
My son's nursery is a medium blue color (a little darker than the chairs in this pic) with red, white and dark brown furniture and accents. The theme right now is gnomes/woodlands, so the red mushrooms and gnome hats really pop with the blue and white. I figure the color will be really versatile down the line, and I'm already planning new artwork for when he gets older. Maybe Doctor Seuss or Britannia?
Also, that mushroom lamp would be perfect in his room.. I wonder where that came from.
My three-month-old son's nursery is light blue (well, kind of aqua) and red. And so is my kitchen! I think it's one of the cheeriest color combinations possible.
