Wow, this is great! We visit a cottage on Lake Michigan and it's quite a hike to the beach for a bonfire (100+ steps down a sand dune), carrying all the gear, kids, firewood, kindling, etc.. If it was this easy, we would probably have fires a whole lot more often.
It's clever, and a neat way to keep the fire contained.
