Back when Architects Paper released their LED wallpaper, a lot of people were excitedly proclaiming the technology-infused wallpaper the future of wall decor. However, I haven't seen a lot of homes that have adopted LED wallpaper yet, probably because with a minimum order of 15 rolls, installing it onto walls is a pretty big commitment. Wallbrights may be the better option for many, in theory, an easier option for bringing LED customization to walls...
The reason I like wall decals is because you can still make a statement and transform a room without committing to painting your walls or putting up wallpaper, which seem like much more permanent interior decorating.
Instead of having all your walls light up with LED wallpaper (as shown above), you can opt for Wallbrights, which are customizable wall stickers that contain LEDs. Each piece can be placed however you like, so you create the pattern. The shapes link up using male and female connectors, and the final piece needs to be plugged into an outlet.
Since the plug-in module powering the whole LED array includes Bluetooth connectivity, brightness and even the color of the lighting scheme of the Wallbrights can be adjusted via mobile app, a pretty awesome feature for setting a mood.
Wallbrights is still in a concept stage and not yet available to purchase on Quirky Products. However, if you're into the idea of wallpaper that lights up, you can give it a test run with easy sticker decals that glow in the dark. I like the Moonshine Glow wall decal from Dezignwithaz. If you're feeling more ambitious, Flat Vernacular offers a gorgeous selection of glow in the dark wallpaper. My favorite is Morning Glow.
