I am really excited about this bulb. It looks like an incandescent in the fixture, the light is almost identical to an incandescent, and it is compact.
Control Bulb: EcoSmart Soft White CFL 40W Equivalent
Primary Use: reading light, task light or ambient
Time of Day Tested: 5:00 p.m.
How It Performed: Because it is an LED, it uses a fraction of the energy of a comparable incandescent or even compact fluorescent bulb. I knew I would like this bulb the minute I turned it on. The color is pleasant and it illuminated my desk just as well as the control bulb.
This bulb was a little difficult to find but I ended up finding it at Home Depot. The bulb arrived quickly but it was wrapped in an excessive amount of petrochemical based packaging.
