Layered bedding is a great way to achieve a homey, romantic feeling in the bedroom. As the weather warms in the Spring, sometimes the last thing you want is additional bed coverings.

When I saw these lacy throws on Karina's beds (seen on Decor8), I knew what the object of my next antique hunt would be — antique crocheted lace to toss over a lightweight coverlet in the coming warmer months. Even a nice lace table cloth might fit the bill. And who knows? Maybe I'll work up the gumption to make my own!

Sprout Side Table
ick.
I'll start by saying that although it's not my style, I think this is a really cute room. But it reminds me of a quote about Rachel, from season 1 of Glee: it manages to dress like it's a grandmother and a 5 year old at the same time. ;)
Reminds me of the crocheted coverlets my Granny used to make herself to place on her beds in the summertime...
I honestly thought that first picture was from a doll house.
Yikes... I'm a crochetphobic. Even though it's not even a remote possibility, I already have a plan for how to get out of sleeping in one of those rooms.
Very granny. Tablecloths, in particular, seem to me a not-so-good idea -- people are bound to notice that the thing isn't big enough for a bedspread.
I love the pink headboard.
Obviously these beds never have cats or dogs on them. They'd snag their paws & claws in the crocheting.
Agree with rexrayfan -- I thought I'd accidentally clicked on a crafting blog I follow that occasionally does dollhouse crafts.
I am not usually a fan of crocheted lace coverlets, but I really liked this one (second pic) posted the other day. I like how graphic the white lace is and how modern it seems over a bright colored blanket.
I love my crocheted bedspread - it is designed to be a bedspread, so it covers and drapes over the ends of my Queen bed beautifully. It's also never bothered my cat. I just don't have the perfect blanket to put underneath it, so my colourful Urban Outfitters quilt, sans crochet, is usually my go-to.
image #1 wow - awesome headboard! crocheted coverlet isn't my style but is lovely for that room.
I'm a sucker for crochet anything- I guess I'm alone on that one. I love the colors, but if you click on the link you'll see it leads to a girl's bedroom, that's why it's a bit over the top candy sweet. I love layers and textures on a bed, lace and crochet included.
