Larger-than-life light. When we stumbled on the Burn After Reading shoot near Cobble Hill last Friday night, the set lighting over the intersection of Clinton and State made us want our very own giant glowing orb. Then we found Airstar Space Lighting...

Airstar actually makes lighting for film shoots. But they make large-scale lighting for other uses, too. Like for private outdoor events where you want to light a large outdoor gathering. Or for retail and yes, even residential, interiors. They carry several different lines of fixtures, which range in shape and size. But there is one thing in common to all of their lighting: it's large and calls for a large space.

That main picture is actually of a balloon made by Sourcemaker Inc. Sourcemaker is geared more towards film and they make much more logical and powerful balloons compared to Airstar. That's a 6.5' Sodium Vapor cube, which Sourcemaker had years before Airstar recently built them. Their website is http://www.lightingballoons.com . I've used their gear on many of my shoots and it's unmatched.
