This stone bowl project entitled "lightness of stone" was created by Linn Tale Haugen, who is fascinated by stones and enjoys designing with products that have been naturally shaped by nature. The minimalist quality to these bowls really does give the sense that they'd be lighter than the sum of their parts.

Linn Tale Haugen is a MA industrial design student based in Oslo. The stones were collected on the West Coast shores of Norway, at a place called Selji. Her goal in using stone was to accentuate the beauty of naturally round shapes.

Her pieces, seen here, were part of this year's London Design Festival as part of an exhibition showcasing 14 Norwegian designer’s fresh unseen prototypes from a set brief.
