When looking to lighten your load, while insuring you get the best photo possible, nothing beats carbon fiber tripods. This man-made material is stronger than its aluminum counterparts, yet extremely lightweight. We recently shared our fav tripods for the iPad, and here are our picks for best three-legged options for photographers looking to lighten their load.

TVC-24 Versa Tripod
We know that the price of $830 may be limiting to some buyers, but if you are a professional photographer, you know that quality comes with a high price tag and this is not an exemption. Weighting at only 3.2 lbs and supporting a load of 40lbs, this carbon fiber wonder can be adjusted from 4" to 52". They even bundle some bullhead adapters that will help you save some cash if you end getting the combo.

Gitzo GT0541 Mountaineer 6X Carbon Fiber Tripod
The Gitzo is almost half the price at $499 and uses advanced "Carbon 6X" material for its construction, providing an improved and stronger legs using some 3D layering process, that not only make it stronger but also extremely light. Of Course, the Anti Rotation Leg and G-Lock design is part of the package and it has a completely re-designed upper discs and bolts that improves head locking while making it oxidation resistant.

Manfrotto Carbon Fiber Tripod
These are the cheapest of the bunch, at $269, we think they are "affordable". These are the lightest tripods that Bogen Manfrotto offers. These 190CX Carbon-Fiber Tripods are designed for smaller spotting scopes and cameras and is perfect for long hikes and camping.
