Maybe it was a last year thing or maybe it's an evergreen, but I found myself thinking about the "For Like Ever" poster last night. I first saw it in Laure's apartment (above) in the spring of '07 and I just liked it. I like big bold art. I like stuff that's ridiculously positive...
It reminded me of the cheeky and over the top art that I'd seen in New York Magazine even earlier (below), including the one I DIDN'T like (below, below) because it was just crude.
So then I rounded up a few faves. Here's to big, positive graphic art in whatever form it comes in. Enjoy!

I love all the vintage mirrors. Good job on colors and layout arrangement. I am also crazy for succulents. Nice selection!
I like most of these rooms (although the poster in the first one is so stupid it hurts), but in the third one - why would you want something so negative screaming at you while you eat? I like the letters themselves but it seems odd to call the sentiment "positive".

I actually was dwelling on the For Like Ever poster last night too and I went to the website and saw that it cost 60 dollars, which is a lot for a piece of paper, silk screened or not. At least for my college-esque budget. SO I looked around more and found a cheaper one for only 5 dollars from them as well, but it folds up so it will have creases. This doesn't bother me because I'll be placing it in a huge shadow box and I like the imperfection. Especially for only 5 dollars. I think it will look kind of romantic over my bed, especially when I am not alone it it.
I have the For Like Ever poster, and it has become one of my favorite pieces. Plus, the company I bought it from were incredibly nice!

However, I'd love to see the You Rotten Prick turn into a trend. At least I'd get a good chuckle out of the repeat posts instead of a big sigh.

I too was in sticker shock over the $60 price at vllg.com, but shine collective is still selling them at half the price!
