Inspired by her love the midcentury boomerang shapes, vintage fabrics and guided by her training at the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising in Los Angeles, designer Jayne Blume of Like Kittysville came up with some comfortable looking spot for your favourite feline to park their tailed behinds...
"My lifelong collection of remarkable retro fabrics is matched only by a lifelong devotion to my collection of remarkable rescued and formerly feral cats (Kittysville is really a reference to our home.) "

Jayne's line of Like Kittysville cat furniture is available via her Etsy site here.

Do cats really sit on these things? I mean rather than sit on the couch or a chair or a sunny spot on the carpet? My cat seemed really happy to sit wherever unless I was in the room and then he wanted to sit on top of me.
I had suggested these before Pet Month began, my only issue is that she cannot currently create beds to accomodate a slightly larger pet. My chihuahua would fit, but my yorkie wouldn't; they insist on cuddling. I love the design and her fabrics! Looks like the DIY monster in me will have to get clever.
My question exactly MiklakMiklak. Has anyone ever had a cat the obediently used a cat bed? Mine will only sit on things you don't want her to sit on. What am I doing wrong?
yeah.. Roger cat is now shifting himself to get comfier in my lap as i type.. as lovely as these beds are, i know my cat would scoff at it and i'd be out a few bucks and square footage in my already-small-enough apartment. oh well!
my roommates cat LOVES sleeping in cat beds.
he'll sit on the couch or on the ottoman (but never the chair, the sheepskin gives him horrors) but he loves to curl up in a nice shoebox or cat-sized bowl.
My cat much preferred his own little spot. We had a basket lined with blankets underneath an end table that was cornered in by two couches.
He loved being able to lounge in his own, private area (that even the dog couldn't really get to) that was nice and closed in, yet still right at the center of the family's every day life.
So I recommend putting the bed in a cozy space, rather than treating it like another chair.
Brilliantsville!
I might try one of these, although, I unintentionally bought my cat her own chair already. A nice MCM from a great thrift store in LA that I intended to recover. I guess she thought it was hers because no else else gets to sit in it! And, now that I think of it, it cost less than these beds but these are brilliant and really nice looking.
I love that kitty at the top which is the black & white one. What a handsome cat.
Killer eyes on the kitty lying on the green.
I'm convinced that if I could miniaturize my bed, complete with crumpled sheets, I'd make a million.
My Shih Tzu dog loves his orange tweed bed. It looks lovely with my MCM decor and we have had it for a few years already. It is a beautiful and original design. Everyone comments on how cool it is! In the wintertime it gets placed right in front of the fire! Out? Who wants to go out? :)
