From everyday objects reinvented such as the “Salome Coffee Set” (edition of 15, $500) or the “Siamese Bird Vase” (edition of 175, $250) to more strictly sculptural pieces the idea is that art is to be lived with instead of simply viewed. Objects such as the “Office Buildings Candle” (edition of 500, $250) encourage the owner to take part in the creation process of the work by burning the candle so that it resembles an “Apocalyptic Landscape.”
While I enjoy the idea that art should not be limited to the walls of a home and can be incorporated as a functional part of the decor, I would be hesitant to leave out one of these unique “works” where it could so easily be damaged.
What do you think?

No thanks!
No that pieces shown here.
Especially #1.
Oh My goodness. I love it. I'm going to figure out how to DIY that IMMEDIATELY.
Salome: When zombies and vampires come to dinner.
$500 for a Halloween only tea set for 2?? they probably have a waiting list for that crap. the pottery itself looks nice though.
Easily one of my favorite Museum Stores, they have great art editions if you're not on budget to buy the big stuff.
A teaset that looks like the owner just had a massive hemorrhage all over it? No thank you.
oy. why would anyone buy that? some people just have way too much money.
I adore the tea service. But I'm fond of macabre like that.
Yay for affordable art!
Just what I have always wanted - headless birds.
Dirty Dishes are Not Art.
put a (headless) bird on it!
CSI: Tea Party
Eeeuuwww. I don't think so.
If I wanted to create a Bloodbath tea service, I'd buy a cheap white set and pour transparent glass paint on it.
But I don't. And never will.
It looks like the scene of an ax murder and the only thing that survived was the tea service.
I think it is only nice as a image..
uh... building candles???
i think that imagery is even more disturbing than the bloody tea set and headless birds...
Hard to believe it's limited edition. I mean who wouldn't want a tea set that makes you believe the person serving tea just sliced off their finger? I'm in the mood for tea just thinking about it.
That tea set goes bloody well with the Psycho shower curtain: http://wp.me/pt2rM-Dc
Ew is right! I could like that tea set in another color - green, blue, yellow, purple, etc - but bloody-red? Gross. Looks like a crime scene. Not appetizing.
bloody tea parties
flowers presented in headless birds or perhaps a romantic evening by apocalyptic candle light.
nah
Do they carry anything that isn't twisted?
ooooo bloody tea set. Just what I wanted....crime scene?
I actually like somewhat macabre objects. Maybe growing up as a mortician's daughter is the reason. ;)
But this stuff is awful, all of it. If it's supposed to have a humorous vibe to offset the horror I must have missed it. Plus I have a parrot so the headless birds are just a big ole NO.
I love the bloody tea set, but not at that price tag. It would go great in a goth-y sort of room.
When I saw the tea set picture all I could think of was the film Carrie, way back in the '70s? with Sissy Spacek, uhoh Carrie's back!
That tea set evoked three successive reactions in me: first, I thought "Eeew, what? No." Then I saw the name of it and thought, "Ohhh, clever! I like that!" Then I remembered that one of my principles regarding art is that I should not have to be told the artist's intention in order to understand/appreciate it. And so that brought me back to, "Clever, but I'm not going to explain to all my guests that my tea set references the beheading of John the Baptist. Nah."
That is freakin rad! I need to have that. I will be making my own. Way too awesome not to have.
That tea set is so not my cup of tea.
P.S. And I couldn't call any of those things "art" with a straight face.
Once again, art is left up to interpretation. My interpretation is no way, no how...ever.
