Kelly green has always been one of my all time favorite colors. It's the perfect combination of preppy and edgy and it also happens to be pretty popular in the world of interiors. When I'm feeling a little too mainstream with my kelly green accents, I turn to her much edgier sister — lime green and I start feeling much cooler.
I know what most peoples initial reaction would be to lime green in the home — yikes! But seriously, this once scary color can actually be used in small or large doses and give your home some serious spunk and personality.
If you're going for an edgy all white look, add a touch of lime green to accent pieces and even curtains to really grab attentions. If you're really daring and up for a super fun DIY project, paint the floors lime green, you might actually be surprised by how great they look! If you have a super sunny room (or even dark room that is in desperate need of brightening) paint the walls lime green and watch how the subtle furniture now suddenly pops.
What's your take on lime green?

I just painted my 3YO son's room in the aptly named "Sonic Lime" by Valspar. It is a brightly-lit east-facing room. He loves it and my husband and I are starting to love it too. It certainly does pack a punch! I really appreciate how lime green compliments light or medium wood stains.
I'd never have the guts to do it, but I love everyone of those pictures.
Maybe I'll buy just one lime green accessory and see what happens.
My place is primarily grass green against black and off-white, with pops of bright orange and yellow. The bedroom's a somewhat calmer mix of several greens, with a poster bringing in a touch of hot pink. I LOVE it -- grass green is both restful and energizing. I use it almost like a neutral -- the only thing it really doesn't work too well with is blue.
I just finished painting 2 campaign nightstands Barnyard Grass from Behr. I was a little freaked out by the electric color, but I also sort of love them!

And I was at Anthropologie this weekend and noticed a huge kelly green display piece. It's in!
I have had Kelly Green dining room chairs for over 5 years now. Love the pop of color and everyone comments on them.
I have a lime green walls in my kitchen and bathroom. I'm sure that the realtor will tell me to paint them when I eventually decide to move.
Surely it's about what you like, not what is or isnt cool?
I've liked it for as long as I can remember.
