San Francisco- and Sacramento-based design mecca Limn has just announced that their new location will be in downtown Seattle. The presss release says,
"LIMN’s first store outside of California will join the historic gallery-filled Pioneer Square district of Seattle—the destination for those seeking unique and surprising finds."
"LIMN Seattle will be located at 629 Western Avenue in Seattle, Washington. LIMN Seattle will host an opening reception on November 9th, 2006 from 6 pm to 9 pm, open to the public."
We say: Limn is superb for pricey modern design from Europe. Did we mention that it's pricey?

Limn in SF used to be a fun place to browse and admire the latest in modern furnishings. However, the last time I went there, I was informed of their new policy against customers just browsing on their own. I believe you have to be "assisted" by one of their associates in order to wander around.
Really, an associate to follow you around? That won't go over well in Seattle, especially not in Pioneer Square (which despite the press release is more known for vagrants and drunk college students than historic galleries). I adore the area and this place looks like fun to wander around in, hope they losen up!
