Inspiration for my palette:
While studying abroad in Europe, I collected several pieces of art from Greece, Rome and Prague and all of the art I collected was either mostly blue or had blue undertones so I started there. However as the room started to take shape I found myself attracted to the idea of a "peacock" theme which just snowballed from there.
Colors used in my room:
The walls are painted Behr "Costa Rica Blue". The shadowbox wall hangings were hand painted using Behr Parchment White and Rolling Hills (green). A darker purple color was also used as an accent color throughout the room.
Tips for using color successfully:
Don't be scared of it! When I first chose the color some of my family and friends thought it was too bright/too overwhelming. I kept at it though, tried some things that didn't work but in the end, it is by far those same people's favorite room in the house! Game nights have become a lot more fun.
