Maybe it's because you want what you can't have, but now that I am married I dream of the ultimate girly bath. Meaning, it has to be pink. And have flowers. And sparkly things. And be so organized and clean that you can store fluffy white towels on a shiny etagere. The Carrera marble, hex tiles and tub make it feel like a NYC hotel, too.

I TOTALLY want the grown-up girly bath--and since I am a single homeowner, I can have it too! It will have pink walls, possibly hex tiles on the floor, white subway tile on the walls, and black accents (like the black and white floral fleur de lis switchplate I have). Now, I just need to suck it up and start planning...
Yes I want!
Having just helped a friend pick a new color for his bathroom, luckily all white existing fixtures and tiles I suggested BM Peony above the wainscot which is just enough pink and so cheery it turned out great. Dealing with pale yellow fixtures with white tile I cannot go there.
I say go for it anyway! Your guy can deal with it. ;)
As a single girl, I seized the opportunity in my bathroom to go shabby chic and girly. Not a lot of pink, though, except for hand towels. Mostly, I have a white shower curtain with a ruffle, make up brushes in a pretty green glass and a gold tray to hold clear canisters for cotton balls and a few perfume bottles, plus two little vintage floral paintings. But I'm a renter, so given homeownership, I can't say I wouldn't paint it light pink, too. It's just so crisp and clean!
Miss Piggy.
All grown-up girls should have a pink bathroom. That's what I'm planning on painting mine, as soon as I get around to it. I seem to remember in Margaret Atwood's "Cat's Eye," the protagonist says that women of a certain age should paint their bathrooms pink because it does wonders for the way their complexion looks in the mirror in the morning.
My etagere doesn't work that great for fluffy towels. Possibly the towels are too fluffy. As for the hexagonal tile, my bathroom floor is tiled in that, and it's a MAJOR pain in the @ss to clean. It always looks dirty.
Aw, so cute! I don't think my husband would though. :( I love the black flowers but sooo expensive!!
Thanks for the note, Bohemiangirl. I am leaning towards slate or something else for that reason (much as I love the hex tile look, I am a lousy housekeeper).
