Lisa's flat, a modern cupola atop a classic late-Victorian townhouse, is a bright refuge in a city known for dreary, dark and rainy days. It's a place she'll be leaving behind temporarily while she spends a few months in Los Angeles.
The light, which Lisa, a filmmaker and artist, describes as "a bit French in character." is the arresting feature of the top floor flat. It floods the entirety of the white-walled floor through which was added onto the top of the building in the 70s. The luminous nest looks out across the rooftops of the bustling and lively neighborhood. The open plan space, with its combination kitchen and living room (that does triple duty as a dining area and work space) is cozy, bright. and simply furnished, an inviting refuge when London's weather turns, as it often does, damp and dreary.
