Hutter Auction Galleries in New York is holding an auction with "items from Rue McClanahan's apartment on East 56 street as well as personal memorabilia from her Broadway and Television career including items from her role as Blanche Devereaux on the Golden Girls." Many of the items come with certificates of authenticity and some even come with photos of the item being worn or shown in Rue's home. I have no idea what I would do with one of Blanche's colorful dresses, but I've got my eye on the one in the second image above. Maybe I could frame it? Wear it for the ultimate Halloween costume in 2012? It's not all dresses and shoes, though. There's furniture and art in the collection, too. Items from Rue's New York apartment, including the Early 20th Century Mahogany Vitrine Cabinet that was owned by Rue's grandmother (image 3), and the portrait of Rue painted by John Curran (image 1), are also plentiful. Check out the auction catalog for online bids. And if you're in New York on Saturday December 17th, check out the auction at Hutter Auction Galleries. Images: Hutter Auction Galleries.
