I knew I wanted my new colorful artwork in the living room, so that not only can I enjoy it, but guests can as well. Hanging in a prime spot between the front windows, it's good for a temporary solution.
When it's warm enough to open the windows to paint, this room is getting a few coats of gray. I'm not making use of these media shelves behind the TV, so when they come down to paint, they won't be back going up. I plan on making this a gallery wall, so my prints may eventually migrate here.
How did you choose where to hang your art?

White Enamel Flatwa...
Literally, I have art ON my walls: http://wellletsgoforit.blogspot.com/2013/01/gone-wall-crazy.html Decluttering with the Apartment Cure has allowed the art to shine. From my bathroom where DOTS are the focus (link above) to the home office where my watercolors are newly framed, to the chocolate-brown bedroom walls where I write inspirational quotes and test sketches. ... my house feels renewed and happy. Like me.
THANK YOU, Apartment Therapy, for an inspiring month.
Love the look of your living room, and the prints look great!
Oh I like the mint colored walls and those shelving units are super cute...but I too love a gallery wall as all my pictures are hung up that way-- on mint color walls! :o)
Please tell me about those chairs-- where did you get them?
I adore that shelving unit, would you mind sharing where you got it? I'm trying to find something like that with only 3 sides, seems much easier to clean and group books together. Thanks!
Ditto the request for the source of those wall shelves- I had a similar one from ikea years ago- and they're really great all-around shelves for anything and everything.
Katherine- I got them cheap at a local thrift shop in Boston called Boomerangs - I know absolutely nothing about them! If anyone knows anything, that would be super.
The media shelves are from IKEA about 4-5 years ago - they were in the BENNO series I think.
