Imagine enjoying the beauty of the bay while living with all the comforts you’d expect of a modern pre-fab home. Life is different out there on the water. Errands are run via kayak, early morning seal-watching is an everyday occurrence and time is measured with the tides. The homeowners (Matt and Jennifer Harvey) seem to enjoy a real community living on the water. And the relatively small space equates to less time spent dealing with the home and more time spent with friends.
Would you trade your small space for another if it meant such a change in lifestyle?

White Enamel Four-P...
As a Sausalito resident, I did exactly that. I downgraded from a 1500 square foot SF flat; to an 800 square foot Sausalito "Tree House". Every day in Sausalito is like waking up on vacation. It's fabulous.
I got my swim trunks and my flippy floppies...
my family owns a houseboat in seattle! i lived on/in it, and I have to say, the pros are being rocked to sleep each night and the view, but the con is the lack of a garden or yard. my dog really missed having her own greenspace!
How fun!!!
