Anything on wheels gets extra points in my book. Add plants to the mix, and it's definitely admiration! Kentucky garden designer, Jon Carloftis, created the beautiful gate as much for style as for function, since neighborhood rules do not allow fences or gates to be higher than 6 feet. The gate was part of Jon's budget backyard makeover, which turned his Lexington, Kentucky yard into a private oasis. Jon created the planter/gate using a piano dolley, a 2x8 foot galvanized horse trough, and arborvitaes. The gate easily rolls open and close to allow easy entrances and exits, while still maintaining a degree of privacy fitting with the lush style of the backyard.
