Several readers inquired about the pebble floor cushions featured in a recent post on the LoftFloat houseboat by Magma Design. And we can understand why. Livingstones are a modular seating concept developed by French designer Stephanie Marin that is both practical and poetic.
Available as floor cushions, pouffes, and sofas, Livingstones are formed around a structure of Bultex foam rubber and covered in 100% virgin wool or polar fleece in a wide range of sizes, shapes, and colors. An indoor/outdoor version is available in neoprene.
In addition to Livingstones, the company also makes a line of modular curtains called Mobile Shadows. These whimsical clouds available in silk or linen can be used as a window covering, partition wall, or art installation. They come in seven sizes with an adjustable cable and magnet system that can be fixed anywhere on the shape.
Livingstones and Mobile Shadows are widely available in Europe, but there are a few distributors in the U.S. Check her web site for details: www.smarin.net

hmmm...I see bean bags have evolved! :)
Everybody must get stoned! ;-) These would go over huge in our town in Maine (Stonington). Especially the children's library...
What I'd give to have the time to curl up amongst those pebbles! They look amazing and so, so comfy!
oh man.... want for loft...
I found a new love.
dreamy
Oh, the HUMANITY!
i saw the original post and thought to my self that they were actually real. silly me. these are cool, but I wouldn't pile them up so high.
I want these. A lot of them.
I love how they look, but I don't believe for a moment that they're actually comfortable. I don't like sitting on bean bags, and these seem rather the same.
The kid in me loves it, but I don't think I'd ever do it my home.
If I had Oprah's money I'd want a room full of these. And I mean 4 feet deep, like those rooms full of plastic balls at McDonalds. But fuzzier.
I just love that it got a herd of teenagers to shut up long enough for that picture. Miracle!
They are insanely expensive.
They look like they should be in Woody Allen's movie "Sleeper". But they are sorta cool looking.
Love it!
These would look nifty on that extra big hearth we saw in a post yesterday...
I love them, but no space for them...
I can't sit on something that isn't going to stay in place. Great for kids though.
I don't think they have the same filling as bean bags. It says they are filled with foam and that woman is standing on one.
