Walking by Liza Sherman Antiques you can't help but turn your head and notice the eclectic and carefully selected pieces of furniture in the brightly painted shop. Beautiful and funky lamps, chairs, clocks and tables greet your eye, all a little off beat and and very hard to find...
Problems? Well, we know we keep saying this and are beginning to sound like a broken record, but price is the only problem. Liza Sherman is expensive, as is to be expected when you're dealing with rare and (practically) priceless pieces. So, in the event you don't have money burning a hole through your pocket, you save up for the one thing you really, really, really love.
Note: Wondering about the fantastic orange color in her shop? It's Orange Burst by Benjamin Moore, one off from Mandarin Orange, which we've written about.

Price is definitely a problem. She was selling Roost's halo chandelier marked up by hundreds of dollars, for example. Not exactly rare or priceless in that case.
DO NOT SUPPORT Liza Sherman! She is a complete SCAM and a terrible pretentious lady to do business with. Many of her pieces are way overpriced and could be found in other markets/countries for less than half her marked price. She doesn't care about shipping on time for her clients or keep her integrity in return policies. You don't want to deal with or support someone like her. Not only does she want to rip people off, but the unpleasant atmosphere she provides is very stuck-up anyhow. This shrewd arrogant woman has a very shrivelled soul that doesn't give a hoot about providing her clients trust and satisfaction.
Buy with caution! I purchased a lamp for $1200 and found the exact same lamp online for $275. I though I bought an antique and not a mass produced lamp.
When I complained via email, Liza ignored me. Her manager David received my letter and contacted me. David apologized, acknowledged that I was overcharged and offered me a full refund with shipping.
When I called to make arrangements to ship the lamp back, Liza answered. She stated that she fired David for making such a decision and criticized him. Liza stated that she would not refund any of my money. She was confrontational and rude to me on the phone. She ended up hanging up on me.
This woman has the worst reputation in the industry- she is rude and a fraud. She tells fictious stories about her merchanse in order to justify her outrageous prices. When I asked for simple information about a piece she refused to give it to me, I am nothing put resourceful, and when I found the information on my own: found out she is charging $4,500 for something that is worth $1,500. The "taste" of a bitter, shriveled up, old spinster does not justify a $3k price difference.
