Irene from Bloesem is one of our favorite go-to sources when it comes to European design, and this week we were thrilled to spot these gorgeous adjustable pendant lamps at the top of her blog. The Lloop, by Dutch design firm Ontwerpduo, shows how a functional design feature can add beauty as well...

The Lloop comes in three designs: one hangs from the ceiling, a simple pendant; another hangs but is intended to rest on or just above a table, with the light shining through cut-outs in the shade; and a third is meant for wall-mounting. The loop of the adjustable cord hangs loosely, adding softness to the somewhat industrial-looking shades.

The muted color palette of the enamel is also appealing, from a rusty red to a creamy white, with soft greens and grays in between.
The Lloop fixtures are available directly from Ontwerpduo, from $390-$490.

Yeesh. Reminds me of nooses. Not a fan.
This looks pretty sloppy to me...I don't know. Definitely agree that it brings to mind a noose.
Messy-looking and expensive, but love the colors.
Sloppy was my first thought too - I also don't like the cord touching the shade.
Love the soft green, but the cord is a mess not an added design element.
I like the general idea, but yes, sloppy. There should be a clip to attach the hanging loop neatly to the cord.
People people people, you're missing the whole point. The cord! Obviously it's intentional and they didn't want to clip the cord. I think they are beautiful and simple.
noosey
another vote for messy. Looks like whats going on under my computer desk... which my husband keeps telling me I need to address before my toddler starts playing with the wires...
Just because it's intentional doesn't mean it's nice looking or a good idea.
Ick.
Yeah....I don't like the floppy wire there. It looks like someone designed it poorly....I would never put that in my house.
I get it...but also don't like the loop that hangs down below the light. BUT, I'm sure it could be twisted or wrapped so that it looks a bit more aesthetically pleasing...I think they could have styled these photos a bit better.
