Local Foods Save a Town

Yesterday, when we asked how you prioritize when shopping for food, many of you pointed to local first. We felt the same, and that's why we found this video to be especially encouraging and validating: find out how local food truly saved the town of Hardwick, Vermont.

In a town that was struggling in a declining economy, one thing brought them together. You guessed it: food.

Rallying around local agriculture created jobs, healthy foods, and most importantly, community. Read more about it over at Seventh Generation's blog here, and be sure to watch local farmer Pete Johnson explain the impact that's being felt around the country (with a lot of support coming directly from the top from the Obamas, in fact!).
