"Layered", Mazen's exhibit at the Toronto Interior Design Show, ISD12, was similar to his house, Mazen Tailored Toronto Townhouse. Both the exhibition and his home incorporate varying tones and types of textiles and wood. Mazen used some personal objects from his home in IDS12, including artwork, mirrors and furniture. Wallpaper is still popular, especially in bold patterns. Last week at the Toronto Interior Design Show, IDS12, we saw several interesting booths showing custom, digital wallpaper. We were intrigued by the booth featuring custom digital wall coverings, tiles and fabric. More

Studio North is one of my favorite parts of Toronto's Interior Design Show, ID12. This year did not disappoint with clever creations in wood: interesting lighting, knotted tables, wine bottle racks, and wall hangings. More

We last visited Will's English Gentry in Cabbagetown in the summer of 2010. While there wasn't much to improve on since then, Will has moved around furniture, acquired some new accessories and renovated his furnace room. So this tour shows details missed in the first tour and focuses on the small changes that alter the feel of the space.

This lego-like house on Coxwell Street in Toronto was built by architect Rohan Walters and is up for sale. Each floor of the 3-story detached house is 16-by-16-feet because that's the largest size that Walters could afford when he built it. The total space is 800 square feet. A parking area fits between stilts that not only compensate for the slope, but also minimize vibrations from passing streetcars. More

Name: Mazen El-Abdallah, founder of Mazen Studio
Location: Leslieville, Toronto, Ontario
Size: 900 square feet
Years lived in: 4 years owned

When Mazen bought his townhouse, the space was divided into small rooms. Coming from a loft, Mazen wanted this home to have an open feel. Thanks to Mazen's renovation and interior design, the house now feels like one big space with the upstairs living room area connected to the downstairs. Just like the Leslieville neighborhood where the house is located, Mazen's home is always evolving.
