- What I Love About My Small Home:
- Our home is a small cottage in the middle of a big city, and although the space is limited, we were fortunate enough to have decorated our outdoor space to make our home an indoor/outdoor living situation. Additionally, our home is surrounded by windows and french doors which allow a tremendous amount of sunlight making an ambiance of positive energy with relaxation in a little oasis.

- What I Love About My Small Home:
- The charming, cozy feel that is light and bright. I have chosen to use soft muted colors throughout the space. Stronger accents mostly come through the artwork and a few classic furniture pieces. I love that my home reflects me with my collection of furniture, art, and objects from over the years. There is a nice amount of wall space for me to display my art which makes it double as a gallery space as well. Depending on the pieces that sell and new items I am working on, there is always a fresh feel.

- What I Love About My Small Home:
- It's cozy! My husband and I grew up primarily on the East coast, and really feel at home and "contained" when living on a smaller scale. I think I'd feel lost living in some of those big, cavernous houses that you find in parts of LA, and sort of like that our tiny place forces us to be "all up in each other's business."

- The greatest part about living where I do is the history. Charlie Chaplin built this complex in 1924 to house actors who were working at the studios nearby. I feel lucky to get to wake up in a place that had a part in making Hollywood so great. It feels like I live in Snow White's village, and inside my teensy cave is the best place to curl up and read a book or stay in on a rare rainy day. Everywhere you look there are wonky windows, hand carved wood details, and gorgeous stained glass. It's magical. It's hard not to wax poetic...if you came here you would understand!

- What I Love About My Small Home:
- My cozy bungalow is classic 1930s California, and filled with mid-century flea market finds and family treasures. In the mix are wood Danish chests, a vintage Gucci coffee table, a West Elm couch, and a really cool 1950s "space clock" that was my dad's. Set in the Silver Lake Hills, my little home has a gorgeous western view from the kitchen, and late afternoon is what I call the "golden hour," when sun floods the kitchen and living room, perfect for a bottle of rosé or some fresh blood oranges from the garden.

- What I Love About My Small Home:
- Our little home is a Casita Del Rio—it’s right at an entrance to the LA River in Atwater Village, and we’ve become full on river people. We are so lucky to have all these exotic birds, peaceful water, and stunning natural landscape steps from our house. And in the midst of LA freeways, it’s the weirdest thing. The location lifts the spirits with our house filled with reminders of places, people, and experiences that make us happy, and that inspires us to make our stuff! Having a lot of space means nothing if it doesn’t energize you to make your stuff, and there’s always projects happening here. But mostly we love our home because Mr. Furley (the coolest little doggie in the world) lives here.

- When we first considered downsizing, we never dreamed such a budget friendly rental property existed in our L.A. suburb. Tacked onto the back of a 1910 California Bungalow and on half an acre of virtually un-lanscaped forest, we set up house in our quirky-cozy, tiny apartment in the trees. We love the history of the home (Norman Rockwell is rumored to have painted in the studio above while on retreat) and the large casement windows that drench us in morning light and bring the outdoors in. The clever floorplan gives the illusion of space and the farm sink and clawfoot tub add such charm!
Since Memorial Day is the unofficial kickoff to summer, this edition of the Weekend Guide is great for two things. First, there are plenty of sales to help you finish up your home decorating projects while saving some money. Second, it's your guide to the outdoor events that are starting to pop up across the country.Check it all out in the Weekend Guide, pass it on and be sure to send us your own sale or event.

- I love that my place isn't defined by a specific time. it can kind of be whatever I want it to be. It's a personal space where nothing is too precious, which (I believe) allows a level of comfort and warmth.

When we first moved into our little 710 square foot duplex unit, we were not thinking about children at all. The second bedroom was so small that we originally used it as an office, but it transitioned to a nursery alright when Lena came along.
