This summer, our movie attendance has been sparse at best--Iron Man 2, Get Him To The Greek (and we're off to see Eclipse tomorrow). Yes, we know--not very high brow but they have been oh-so-fun to watch. And while most movie sets are either built on backlots or computer generated, Get Him To The Greek utilized a past Apartment Therapy House Tour right here in Los Angeles. While we noticed the amazing home of Lars Ulrich in Get Him To The Greek we didn't realize it was from an Apartment Therapy House Tour until Laure pointed it out. Spacious and airy, Philip's Indiana Jones Oasis caused quite the stir for Apartment Therapy readers back in the summer of 2007 (with the comments split down the middle). One reader declared it was the "antithesis of comfort and coziness" while another dreamed of "drink[ing] a glass of wine in the garden beisde that stunning blue water pool." And although it was tough for readers to agree on Philip's Moroccan Mecca, everyone pretty much toasted the "wow factor" of the home.
In Get Him To The Greek, it almost seemed that the set designer(s) heard our cries and cozied up the home with tons of cushions, bright bedding and patterned throws. Even the bedroom gets a touch of glam to offset the coldness of all the concrete with silk nude bedding that shouts glamour. If you haven't seen the movie, we're giving it two thumbs up (if you don't go for all the fun home decor sets, go for Russell Brand--our newest crush).
