- Inspiration for my palette:
- My inspiration came from the colors and textures that occur in nature, as well as vintage objects. The pale grey walls have the feel of a still morning sky, and the dark, textured woods, metals and decorative items all have an earthy palette. Above all, I wanted a calming space that was not totally pale or spartan, but full of well curated moments and natural colors that all speak to each other.

Rabbits Foot Clover is my favourite roadside treat! It is so nice to see a bushel of them on your table! Gorgeous home.
Beautiful and very calming. Can you help me decorate my place?! ;)
Um...@beddybee...Gray IS a color! Check a Crayola box if you are unsure.
Very nice. Bright and comfortable. What kind of plant is that?
Thank you bejeweled! It's a fiddle head fig.
Love your space! Where did you get that beautiful bronze sculpture on your mantle?
Apartment Therapy posted about that plant. http://www.apartmenttherapy.com/fiddle-leaf-fig-108599
The bronze sculpture of an antelope is an old visual prop I got from a production studio.
Like the combination of earthy textures and pleasing palette, beautiful home..
I disagree with the gray-not-being-a-color comment. The color gray is refined and classic. I think its the perfect choice to showcase all the objects and textures in the space. If it were any other color it wouldn't work.
Love the pops of green. And grey is my favorite color for a home. It seems the perfect backdrop for going either warm or cool and matched just about every other main or accent color. I cannot wait to move out of my current big white ugly rental house into a smaller apartment I can paint grey.
This is an absolute dream room! It is light and airy and so comfortable. Can´t stop looking at it : )
Gray is one of my favorite colors. I have been looking forward to owning my space one day so I can paint some of it gray. Very nice and relaxing! Except the dog or cat blur which is adorable.
We keep seeing gorgeous neutral apartments in this contest, and they're all at a disadvantage because most voters think Room for Color is about NOT using neutrals. I almost wonder if there should be a separate contest for neutral rooms?
I love it and think you accomplished your goal bang-on.
Thanks for the link blueaby. I've gotta get a fiddle head fig. :) I keep coming back to this room also. It truly is calming and collected.
It looks like Emily Henderson's styling!
Nice
love the arrangement on the mantel!
I hope you're still checking your comments because I just wanted to say that I really love your room. Your mantel and your styling of it are fabulous. I also love the way the green of the ottoman is reflected in the fiddle leaf fig tree. I would have definitely voted for you if we hadn't been in the same category : ). And I wouldn't have minded losing to you if you had won the division. But c'est la vie. Enjoy your lovely space.
@britabroad Thank you for your kind words. I really appreciate it.
