Tech talking heads are still debating the merits of Microsoft's recent Surface tablet announcement, mostly related to price and availability. But the majority of folks I know, even iPad users like myself, were impressed with the beautifully integrated keyboard case cover revealed for the Surface. Logitech's aluminium Ultrathin Keyboard Cover brings a similar utility for iPad users, with magnetic clip connection and instant on/off from sleep. It's not as colorfully slim as the Surface version, but this is actually available now, so +1 to Logitech.

The Surface's cover keyboard strikes me as virtually useless. It's membrane, which means touch typing is gonna be difficult, and it's floppy, which means it'll only work when resting on a solid, stable surface large enough to hold it and the tablet.
I have an earlier-generation version of the keyboard show above for the iPad at work, and it's actually pretty good. If Micro$loth had found a way to integrate something like that with their vaporware tablet, I'd have been impressed.
