Spotted on a few other design blogs and in the December issue of Metropolis magazine, the Bardello bar in London takes knitting to a site-specific, large scale lounge experience. What we love: that no detail went overlooked by designer Sam Buxton (the bathrooms, bottle storage, stairs, and the bar's front doors are all webbed and woven). Get inside the space below:![]()

From Core77: "According to the designer, the seating and lighting were integrated to make it appear as though the interior is constructed from a single surface. Together, the wall hangings and a sculptural installation in the bar's main room contain 2.5km of knitted, hand-knotted and woven cord." Stunning.

Whoa. That's a bit much for me. Also, if someone a bit tipsy would stumble into all that webbing and netting, it could be a problem. Not even mentioning purses and such getting caught on all that stuff...
...or if someone happens to vomit on it.
