Hot Seats Our recent Smallest Coolest 2007 winner, London Urchin, was an early favorite and her Hans Olsen dining set received a ton of attention. We got Good Questions (with lots of helpful answers) and this weekend we spotted a similar Olsen design at Modernlink...

The high back of the chairs fit elegantly into the curve of the table. Unlike London Urchin's four, four-legged chairs, these chairs are slightly triangular and have three legs. (While this set comes with six chairs, we regrettably don't recall if all six fit under the table, we assume they do — this would help explain why the chairs are triangular, too.)

Wow. $6,800? They're mighty proud of it! But someone is going to want it badly enough, I'm sure, because it's just entirely too cool to linger.
I love this table! But $6800!!!!! I've seen they go on eBay for much much less.
seen them go . . .
Nice to look at, but I've also checked this out fo my place... This set was on Scavenger about 9 months ago and went for about $1,500. I dunno... I was not impressed with the craftsmanship of the set, or comfort of the chairs. A good example of how a great-looking design may be lacking in other areas.
My sympathies for the sucker who shells out $6,800.
Yikes!
I had this set - I inherited it from my aunt when I was 19 and an idiot. When I was little, if I sat in one of those chairs, chair and kid went crashing to the floor, since those 3 legged chairs were definitely not made for kids! The 'idiot' part stems from the fact that I put them all out on the street (this was years ago)...... and now I wish I hadn't, if only to sell the set to some sucker for 6800 bucks!!!!
Only 4 of the chairs fit under the table; the other two stack. A friend of mine has this table - her super gave it to her about 20 years ago!
My very first boyfriend's parent's have this table -- and last time I talked to them, a few years ago, they were feeling more traditionally inclined towards decorating... Hmmm, I wonder if they could be persuaded to part with it...?
I think the three legged chairs was the original design for this table but I much prefer the 4 legged version. It's more subtle. The three legged version is more space age while the four legged is quite timeless. I saw a four legged one for around $1500 at Reside in Cambridge a couple weeks ago. That place is not known for being cheap so the $6800 price tag for this one is pretty ridiculous.
Delurking here to post that there are a number of these dining sets (both the 3 and 4 legged chair versions) available on ebay; search for Danish Modern, Danish Teak or Hans Olsen. Someone may have mentioned this already, but these tables expand to seat 6.
