We love this couch. It has a certain nest-like quality that makes us dream of spending all day on it, immersed in a really good book.
We saw it on Ilse Crawford's website, and it also may have been in her latest book, Home Is Where the Heart Is. It was too much to hope that it would be for sale at The Conran Shop -- we don't see it online and don't remember seeing it when we were in London last year.
Any ideas, readers?

I've also been looking for a piece like this with no luck ... mike moore, who owned the store "mike" in sf, designed a sofa like this for Bar Rouge in the Hotel Rouge (Washington, DC), but I can't find who sells his stuff.
It looks a little John Saladino-esque to me, perhaps?
Hey, stefan--
I recently met one of the guys from "mike" (maybe even THE mike!)... he is currently bringing an upholstered collection to Desiron, if I am not mistaken. Nice stuff, as you would expect.
I miss "mike"!!!
I used to have a VERY similar sofa - it was vintage 1970s originaly bought at bloomingdales. It was fantastic, but i had to give it away years ago when i moved to a studio apartment.
Stefan, I just spoke to Mike a few weeks ago. He's living and working in NYC now. Loved his store on Fillmore/Sacramento. We go back many years and it was great to catch up with him. If you want to reach him he can be reached at Desiron here in Manhattan.

Maybe he can steer you in the right direction for his sofa. Hope this helps.
This couch was designed by Ilse Crawford for her apartment. It mentions in her book "Home is where the Heart Is" (or in a magazine article in Elle Decoration UK) I forget which. It shouldn't be too hard to find one like it though, or use the picture and get one made to order, although I am sure that would be expensive!
BTW if you haven't read the book I would recommend it.
It's designed by Ilse Crawford and made George Smith.
They do custom furniture, but this one's pretty similar, available in a wide range of fabrics/colors:

I looks like a similar style to that was popping up on AT-NY from CB2:

Which, to me, looks like a sofa that has the seat and back cushions pulled off. And it doesn't look comfortable to me. Couldn't put my arms WAY UP THERE. It would be like being wedged between tall people.
Probably could have a slipcover made for it, if you needed it in different fabric.
It is similar to CB2's shelter sofa. "Four Weddings and A Funeral" anyone? Check out the scene after the reception for Wedding two. I think it's fabulous for lounges, but not practical for everyday living.
I really, really like the look of that cb2 sofa. does anyone know if its comfortable or at all sturdy? the price ($799) is a bit startling, especially compared to the george smith, available for $8,840 in cream linen. I'm torn between the cb2 shelter sofa and the garret leather sofa from room and board. My other favorite is the goetz sofa, which is like a magically beautiful hybrid of the other two, but out of my price range.
I should indeed mention that my "mike" connection was due to anne's introduction and industry inside scoop!!!

I think the Shelter sofa got a thumbs up for comfort here recently.

Click my name for a thread on that sofa, and a first-hand review.
Thank you, Patrick! Oh,no, I can't decide! I like the perfect simplicity of this sofa, but since I'm 5'9" it might be too short and too low. Well, the garret is nice too, though I think I'd recover or replace the back cushions--it appeals to my boho rich(ha!)-hippy side.
WOW,
At San Fran is brand new and already has a mention of my all time favorite designer... I'm impressed.
If you love the Amazing Ms. Crawford, I suggest that you also check out
