We've written about discovering unwitting color trends in our own home. It's sort of the way our wardrobe manifests itself as well...we'll buy a new shirt only to find the same style already hiding out in our closet, maybe in a different color. Sound familiar? We can't help but giggle when we take a look around and find more "accidental" trends in the making...
That top photo is of a stained glass window we found and installed in the wall between our bedroom and living room. When lit from behind, it reminds us of the Gerhard Richter Cathedral in Cologne (grandiose illusions, anyone?).

Moving on to the kitchen, we keep our teas stashed in the basket shown above.

And back in our aforementioned dump/office area (clearly we haven't yet implemented our organization plan), the second basket serves as a catch-all.
Take a look around, what accidents you got going on?

When I put together my sewing room during the spring cure, at the end I realized I had a circle theme. Not intentional but between the clock, the artwork, the fabric for the pillows, the Ikea Asker's, the cork trivets and and the round ottoman it was definitely a circle themed room!

I tried to find those same baskets for my son's room, but could only get rounded ones, not square like you have
Someone pointed out to me once that there's a lot of blue and green accents around my apartment. It had never occurred to me before. Now, I'm a little paranoid about buying stuff that's green or blue but it seems that I'm generally drawn to stuff in these color families.
Nothing wrong with a theme.
I decided to experiment with changing all of my colors from earthy yellow and green colors to more blue and purple (and yellow) to liven up things and it seems to have worked.
Lots more purple and lilac accessories now than 10 years ago.
I once bought the same shirt twice, and discovered it when I washed the newer one and put it in the closet, besides the older one...
AH I am in love with those baskets... may I ask where they are from?? Or round is good too, wow!
Love the stained glass too... my favourite 'colour' is 'multicolour'!
everything red ...
Signe, your circle theme looks great!
I don't have a theme, accidental or otherwise, but I'm always drawn to the same colors, so I always have lots of blue, purple and brown.
I looked at my living room one day and realized that I had decorated it in reds and browns, completely unintentionally. My bedroom is a lot of cool colors, blues and greens. I love that it worked out that way!
woodleyparkzoo- i found the baskets in the lillian vernon catalog...quite a shocker! but i haven't seen them since i bought them, about 5 years ago...i wouldn't mind a few more, truth be told!

Ah thanks for answering about the baskets... oy, don't you hate that great things disappear?
