Going for a walk while on a trip we noticed that globes have really hit the big time:
At Louis Vuitton, no less. Yes these all white globes with tiny Louis Vuitton designs were adorning the shop window. We've been fans of globes for a long time and especially love them in Charilyn's Lovely Studio. The globe shape works really well as lighting and you can Make your own lights out of globes, too!

Do these really count as globes? Is there any residue of the planet being represented?
I love globes too but I find that their beauty is in the profiles of the continents and oceans and their topography, not the ball itself.
There is something creepy about an all-white globe like this.
Leave it to a high-fashion house to make a homogenous designer-globe (with their symbol stamped on it, of course).
I hope they cost lots of money.
i actually like this, it has a really nice form that comes forth when you see it in all white, although it seems like a super easy DIY. 1. buy globe 2. spray paint white....
none the less i think it would look really good to get a glove, paint all of the continent solid in a color, maybe red, or who know shwat. then pain the rest glossy white. or do a matte white and gloss combo.
no idea where i would actually put them, but i like it.
A globe with all functionality totally removed - I do not get it, and don't understand why anyone would want one. But maybe that's just me. I need at least a whiff of function to allow something into my home. Why dust useless crap?
haha They are not for sale! It is just the window display.
This is just another imperialist ploy commissioned by Antarcticans seeking world domination.
waste of space
Nice one Superflyguy :-)
huh.. it's especially cloudy on earth today...
I think Louis Vuitton should consider selling these. Totally useless, but they'd look good in my place. I'll take 5.
Hmm, the designer in me is sort of offended that these globes have had all traces of functionality removed. On the other hand, they look sort of interesting, especially as a DIY -- you could spraypaint a globe that has textured topography, which would be more interesting than a perfect sphere.
I think these would be cool with pencil drawn continents and countries. I just bought spray paint this morning for Yankee Belle's plate project. Don't make me go track down an old globe to experiment on.
Honestly, though. I love globes, but the typical globes clash with my decor. I am always on the lookout for a globe with a different take on the traditional ones. Anyone?
lol superflyguy!
