I recently made over the front entryway to our house. What used to be a wall with a few photos and a small hanging key/mail holder needed to transform into a staging area for incoming and outgoing kids.

I put up a picture ledge to serve as a rotating gallery of photos. It's easier than hanging and rehanging frames. Under the picture ledge, I hung two small sets of mounted coat hooks for jackets and hats. Two small black chairs make it easier to put on and take off shoes. My next purchase will be a perfect container for little shoes that will fit nicely between the two chairs.
I also really like the hallway makeover we found over at the Happy Home blog. The horizontal black and white stripes are genius.

Shaw's Original Fir...
I love both! The horizontal stripes are a great touch.
Nice! I feel a little sorry for the one that has to use the chair between the coats though.
We purchased hooks to go on the wall but it stayed un-hung for weeks. Now this photo has motivated me to get it off the to-do list this Memorial Day weekend! Maybe even hang up a few framed pictures of my girls' artwork!

Really cute. Wish we had room for something like this.

Great idea. Those Eames coat racks would work well for something like this.
Nicely done. Simple and inspiring. Must tackle my own foyer area this summer!
And actually I think this idea, simple hooks a shelf and a couple of tiny chairs or stools could work anywhere. even on 3 feet of wall at the edge of a living room or kitchen entrance.
So cute! I love both of these spaces, just gorgeous.
Does anyone know what the cute boys shoes in the top photo are? They look like crocs but they are enclosed at the back (as opposed to having the crocs strap) ... what are they and where can you buy from?
LOVE LOVE LOVE the sign with "STORYTIME, TUCK IN, KISS AND CUDDLE, SLEEPTIME"...Does anyone know where it's from?
