Although it may feel that antlers in home design are over, we often see them around town as small details in pretty spaces. We recently spotted some neat antler lamps in the Philippe Starck designed....
....lobby at the newly opened SLS Hotel in Los Angeles and love the look and vibe. Aside from the textural design, the antlers create a nice contrast to the white cushions on the couch and add a playful vibe to the chic yet comfy area. We enjoy this kitschy home accent in a smaller scale.

I thought the world was done with antlers and now this.
are we ever really done with anything? My home is decorated in what I refer to as Urban Lodge, yes I have several pieces of Antler / Deer / Moose Head decorative accessories yet none of them are left natural. The heads are painted white to match the color of the wall they are mounted on and they appear ghostlike. The antlers are all gilded. the "trend" may be over but true style is everlasting. p.s. I personally don't like the antler lamps :-(
Having grown up in Dallas I saw many examples of antler furniture. Funny how what was considered something only rednecks would have in their homes and gun shops has gone high-fashion.

If you like antlers, use antlers. Seriously, who cares if they're in or out?
My ritzy aunt's snotty interior designer won't incorporate my uncle's trophies (3 small sets of antlers, no flesh or fur) in the living room design for their Manhattan co-op because he (the designer) thinks they're last season or something like that. The whole thing has made me very sensitive to the antler talk.
antlers aside, that is one tacky hotel lobby... while there are some sweet elements (chandelier frieze, wood end tables), it just doesn't feel unified. and as for the antlers - your home (and the rest of you) should be a reflection of yourself, not just a showcase of current trends. antlers may be silly, but people who care enough to pass judgements on someone else's choice of decor are even sillier.

The only antlers as objets I can support are in the form of a stool, sharp tines up. All you dead-animal-parts-as-decor people, pull up a seat.
Um, holland, deer shed their antlers every year. You can pick them up in the woods, and they're not even a living thing, like, say, plants.
