Portland resident Matt (aka, Artdsgnr) scored what looks to us like a Spun Lamp, but swears he didn't pay retail. He adds that he had to re-wire it. Still, great find, Matt!

(You might remember Artdsgnr's place from this Flickr Finds on AT:NY -- and from our How To: Turn an IKEA Lack Shelf Into a Media Console.)
Thanks, Artdsgnr!

I never thought it possible to fall in love with a lamp. The first time I saw "spun" (at DWR) ... I swooooned. Great lamp and to get it below retail. Cool! I've searched the web and that lamp is the same price everywhere.
Where is that fantastic poster from?
I've never heard of a Spun lamp, but CB2 has 2 lamps in very similar styles
Ada table lamp - $59.95 - white base/white shade, 13" diameter 25" height
Kane floor lamp - $79.95 - brushed nickel plated base/chocolate shade, 15" diameter 59.75" height
IKEA's Kulla is the way to go if you're on a budget:
Look! Kulla Floor Lamp. No complaints and only $89.
What a fantastic view!

where is the shelving unit from? (the one with the poster on it)
I like the media console - where's it from?
I liked this apartment from the first time it was posted; Matt just keeps making it better and better. Still really love that hacked IKEA media console; I am going to have to give that a whirl myself one of these days.
Realgone, the shelving unit with the poster on it is also from IKEA. It's from the Norrebo line. Solid birch, beautifully made. I have it floor to ceiling in my studio, and it looks fantastic!
thanks! I'll go check it out.

Maybe I should read a little bit more carefully. On the way to IKEA today!
Hey, thanks everyone for commenting!
fuzzball - I know how you feel... love the lamp, but never could have justified it at the retail price. Amazingly, my local DWR advertised it in a floor model sale on Craigslist at 70% off... the light socket was fried, and it was kind of challenging to take apart, but I rewired a new socket in there for about $4!
aaron - I second you on the Kulla, great similar look for that price... was gonna get one myself if this hadn't worked out.
rasabasa - the poster was bought from youworkforthem.com a few years ago... limited run, but they usually have some other cool work up there at any time.
what's the treatment on the walls and ceiling? I love it, and it's not on the previous sets of photos...
ms on b, the wall and ceiling are concrete. i love how it looks too! check out his flickr page to see pics of the new console as well, its all red and looks fantastic
