The late Lady Bird Johnson once said: "where flowers bloom, so does hope." Because of Lady Bird's efforts here in Texas and around the country, we all have more local wildflowers to admire. Why not use nature's color palette as inspiration in your own home?

Using colors found in regional flowers and plants will not only make your home colorful, it will also create an interior perfectly suited to its local surroundings!

Here in Austin, two great places to check out local wildflowers come to mind. The first is the Lady Bird Wildflower Center, located at 4801 La Crosse Avenue in
Austin, Texas.

Another great source of wildflower color inspiration is Wildseed Farms, 7 miles east of Fredricksburg, Texas (and about an hour's drive from Austin). The photos you see in this post come from their wonderful wildflower fields!

What are the local plants that give you color inspiration in your own region? Have you ever choosen colors for you home based on the colors you see in local flowers?
