With the new year well upon us, it's probably safe to assume you've made at least a few resolutions. If one of those resolutions was to eat less sweets, then prepare yourself for a sugar overload with a glimpse of the tasty Austin bakery, Sweet Tempered. You'll definitely find some inspiration to sweeten your own spaces after the jump!
For this South Austin bakery and catering company, it's all in the details, whether we're talking sweets or decorating. Sweet Tempered's store front may have just recently opened, but the talented bakers behind this business have been creating amazingly detailed cakes and sweets for weddings, birthdays and other special occasions for years. Their cakes are gorgeous to look at, often leaving you wondering "how'd they do that?"
Using old treasured items and some new finds, this unassuming storefront has been transformed into a sweet and lovely bakery with places to enjoy your sweets or get a little work done. Everything, from the paint colors to the vintage furniture, comes together nicely to create a thoughtful and delicate composition.
We loved the details like the free sprinkle station, the lovely tiled tables and the old-fashioned display pieces. An awning sets the order counter apart from the rest of the space, and lovely lights create a nice ambiance. The owners were delightful, and so were the chocolate chip cookies. Sweet Tempered is located in The Shops at Arbor Trails at on William Cannon Road in Austin, Texas.
Even if you've given up sweets for awhile, you'll still want to check out this sweet space. Tell us what you think about it!

Austin's been having a bit of a dessert overload lately. Between the Hey Cupcake! trailer and store, Polkadots Cupcake Factory, Sugar Mama's Bakeshop, Lux Bakery, and the new Cookie Lounge, you can't walk 10 feet without smacking into a cupcake. Not so good for those of us starting New Year's diets!
I'm more fond of what appears to be the next wave sweeping through Central Austin: fro-yo. Fro-yo EVERYWHERE. I can count 3 new stores on Guad by UT alone.
Oooh, another place to try on my next trip to Austin! I'm partial to Mozarts cuz they have good coffee and a huge dessert selection and the scenery is nice, but I'm always open to a new dessert place!
I didn't realize froyo was the new thing. I prefer frozen yogurt over ice cream. TCBY's white chocolate mousse is to die for. I'm not sure anyone could beat that.
Very cool.
MOZART'S rules. I went on a really nice date there. Awesome place.
