Sure, I don't live in the biggest city but it's still a novel idea to have bees within the city limits of most cities and towns. I came across these on a walk the other day and business sure is buzzing.
The bee box is painted with fun scenery and a repurposed mason jar holds their water (sugar water?). It's amazing what you can find in your very own neighborhood.

White Enamel Four-P...
I want to learn to do this so badly, but I don't think the slumlords would love it.
Yeah, it's probably sugar water. I wonder why they have a disco ball there though.
My hives are just white. ha
There are companies in the Bay Area who'll deliver a complete hive and make return trips to maintain it for you. You donate land with some good plants for the bees, they give you some local honey in exchange and sell the rest.
Good news all around!
