For our son's fifth special day, we made a time line for his classroom birthday celebration. As part of a Montessori birthday celebration, teachers usually ask parents to construct a simple time line of the child's past years. We love how simple this project is and it never occurred to us what a great idea it is for any birthday celebration -- not just a Montessori one.
The time lines can be as simple or as elaborate as you want to make them. For our time lime, we just construction paper and color print outs. We then listed a milestone or special event that our son experienced each year.
The best part is constructing the time lines as a family project. Your child will have a great time listening to stories of their life --- as well as the crafting aspect of it -- and you'll enjoy reminiscing and wondering where your baby has gone!
