Electricity can be scary. Didn’t anyone see Shocker? But it turns out rewiring a lamp is easier than you might think. Plus it’s a great way to repurpose something you have around the house.

Head over to The Black Table for simple instructions on how to whip up this concoction yourself.
Have you ever repurposed something into a lamp? What did you use?

This is a classic idea- my Dad did one in the 70s with a gorgeous deco-style blender. We still have it!
I dunno about this- especially the last one. Looks like someone stuck an illuminated dildo in a blender for funsies.
LMAO @ kellylc
"funsies"
Yes, but can I turn my old lamp into a blender?
...or an illuminated dildo?
A while ago, a buddy and I turned a blender into a fish tank. We drilled through the center of the blade and ran a bubbler tube up through it and attached it to the buttons. I was awesome!
absolutely not.
Why?
There's kitsch and then there's tacky. I'm thinking this falls under the T word.
the idea is cool, if you had that right 1950's type blender in a yellow or a robin's egg. but the second one--- no. just, no. and as previously stated, it does look like a light-up dildo.
Pfft.
I make 'em big.
Vacuum big.

kmorar, do you mean like this? This is an old store display I bought at an antique store several years ago. It's one of the things I'd grab if my house were burning down.
link! blender lamp
My friend makes these. Except he calls them blamps. (BLender LAMP = BLAMP)
So there's a world of blender lamps out there. Who knew? I'd want to pack one with a string of Christmas tree lights, I think---
more disturbing than the "blildo" (blamp dildo) in the 2nd photo is the 6-to-1 electrical mess in that outlet waiting to blow a fuse.
NavySeabee I make vacuum lamps too, never a blender though.
