Upturned metal nesting bowls underneath a wall-mounted credenza make for a clever way to softly break the long parallel line between the credenza and the floor. This idea works best when both bowls and floor are perfectly clean and dust-free, so it might create work for those of us who would be driven nuts by dust accumulation between regular cleanings.

However, we wonder if it's a possible alternative to mood lighting, since it's able to reflect the existing light in the room from the floor up and out. Either way, we give the visual appeal a thumbs up with extra points for frugality — these are BLANDA bowls from Ikea.

This probably wouldn't work with pets in the house. They'd get knocked around!
They look really random and weird to me. I feel like I'd almost rather see them mounted to the wall as some sort of art installation.
i can dig it, in a multidimensional, floorboard-cutting-through-steel-spheres kind of way.
Needs wall decals ...
um? they look like bowls on the floor.
It's a good place for dustbunnies to collect!
I like that their placement mirrors the earthenware on the credenza. I think that's what makes them interesting here. In general, I agree they'd have to be raised and exude some soft light to be useful.
These look like bowls on the floor that a 2 year old was playing with and abandoned.
Maybe a chrome version of just a single bowl could have a stronger impact?
I'm not sure why you'd want to visually interrupt the clean line of the minimalist credenza and the floor. That clean line is something I'd try hard to achieve, if given this type of furniture to work with.
This is one of those things that, to me, looks interesting in pictures but in real life would just look weird and would really start to bug me after a while.
i applaud the experimentation, but.... they look like bowls on the floor.
looks awful
Very strange looking. If I saw this in someone's house I would ask why they have upside down bowls on the floor.
Who threw the popcorn bowls under the credenza?
It looks like they're trying to cover up a hole in the floor or something.
This looks odd to me.
Interesting! I can definitely see doing this, or even a version of it with large ceramic bowls that have lights under them to make a glow in the evenings.
Dishes on the floor? just feels unsanitary.
i like it. think it looks great.
Interesting in theory, but it really just leaves you thinking "why do you have upside down bowls on the floor? what is under them?" Looks too odd.
