This house can be found in Kansas City, Mo., in the Westport neighborhoods. This area is full of colorful people, so there is no reason the houses shouldn't reflect the personalities that live there. Would you be as daring as they were? Let us know after the jump.
This house has never felt out of place no matter how many times we drive by it. Often times, homeowners try to go bold with their painting techniques, but end up falling short. Would you consider painting your exterior so bold? Or do you think it would scare away the neighbors?

I love bold, but I don't think I would ever be that bold. A neutral base with one or two bold colors is more my style. ;)
I don't know that I would be so bold, but that house looks fantastic!
It looks a little like a lego house.
hmmm...
I want to see what's inside.
The gold and red is a touch McDonald's, but regardless this is way better than all the shades of the bland rainbow most houses seem to be painted, or vinyl-sided, in today.
no.
but it *is* better than vinyl siding, or pink stucco (although the stone veneer is annoying)
it's fun and inviting. i love it.
I would be that bold... now that I have been shown the way
it's WONDERFUL
the duller roof and stone make the game good, a real tension there... super
So does AT have a permanent Kansas City contributor now?
Awesome. KC represent.
The house looks great, btw. Although I probably would have shyed away from the blue, myself.
It does look like a lego house.
I drive by Westport quite often and I never noticed this house. Weird. Maybe it just blends in with the neighborhood.
Westport has so many crazy, fun, odd people! The houses are just the same there.
Oh. There are a lot of ugly houses too around KC. Sarah, maybe you could do one posting with several ugly house.
I mean color ugly!!!!!
I know this street in kansas city. There are really about 9 homes all together that are painted like this---in different colors. Flowers to match most years. It's fun to walk down the street, but feels like a theme park to me. I think they are all office buildings, not really 100% sure though. Sarah should of put a long shot of them all in her pitch. They also have very well kept lawns and gardens to make them look like a total image. They would fall apart real fast if there was not this attention to detail.
Cojaclynsy----these homes are one block east of Broadway behind a Japanese steak house called Go Goes---not sure of the spelling on the steak house.
I love this house. More please! House tour mandatory.
yeahyeahyeah- I am a permanent blogger for Kansas City with Apartment Therapy Chicago and am excited to show the country what all our great city has to offer!
poptart- All good things come in time! Look for that coming soon!
cojaclynsy- Like most cities, we have many ugly houses. But we like to keep our focus on the positive side to help inspire us all as homeowners and designers; instead of giving us all something to hate. Although I might sneak a few of them in... as we do have some real beauties.
If anyone in Kansas City has something they would like to see here, drop me a note at sarahraeat@gmail.com!
My apologies- That's what happens when you check AT from a computer that isn't your own. The above comment was from me... Sarahrae.
Remember the old multicolored house around 87th and Ward Parkway across the street from the mall? Is that one still around in all its glory?
